Coconut oil is one of those foods that seem to have endless use. One use you may not be aware of is that it is a fantastic base for a toothpaste. Often, a conventional toothpaste can be full of harmful chemicals and agents, but alternative natural toothpaste is expensive. Why not try to make toothpaste from coconut oil as a healthy, cheap alternative? Here are six reasons why you should make a toothpaste.

No harmful chemicals.

One of the biggest drawbacks of traditional toothpaste is harmful chemicals that contain … so much that they have to put a warning on a label that tells you to call poison control if you swallow them. If it is not safe enough to swallow, why would I wash my teeth with it?

The nice thing about coconut oil is that there are no harmful chemicals in it, and because it’s incredibly healthy to eat if you accidentally swallow something, it would actually be useful for your health.

Anti-bacterial

Coconut oil is antibacterial and has proven to be very effective in killing bad bacteria in the mouth. Think about it. Pour coconut oil into your mouth after washing it will give you the same effect as a traditional mouthwash.

No foaming agent

The common ingredient in the toothpaste is soap called sodium lauryl sulfate. SLS is used as a foaming agent because it gives people the illusion that toothpaste cleans teeth simply because it foams. But SLS is associated with canker sores, a painful oral problem that you probably do not want to deal with.

Cheap

Using a few cocoon spoons of coconut oil is incredibly cheap and will last for months, making it the cheapest toothpaste you’ve ever used!

Your dog can use it

Coconut oil is not just for people; It’s incredible health for dogs too.

Easy to do

In addition to all the health benefits, the toothpaste of coconut oil is incredibly simple (and fun!). All you need is an empty container and several ingredients:

Baking soda: it helps with bleaching,
Essential oils: give your toothpaste a special taste
Erythritol, xylitol or stevia: natural toothpaste suitable for teeth that will improve the taste of your toothpaste (do not use xylitol if you plan to use it for pets – this is toxic to them)
When I switched from ordinary toothpaste to my own, I realized that I would never go back. There are positive advantages in making the toothpaste, so why not try?
